Ipaq 210 vs HTC Advantage

How is the performance compare between these two devices??

VIDEO? SCREEN clarity? Well forget about the phone function, gps, camera on the HTC advantage..

I am talking specifically the speed, usage, freezing issue, WIFI, and pocket pc usage. Has anybody do this kind of comparision yet.. ???

I owned HTC advantage, want to see how the Ipaq 210 stack up against the Advantage.

watching videos on it is bad it stutters a bit especially is u watch flash videos its so slow (animation wise) due to the fact it has no graphics chipset but its better for battery life that way tho

i have a dell M1710 laptop for a pc away from the pc anyway :)

screen view angles and backlight uniformity r perfect to around 20 degrees more its still nice

the wifi is excellent it holds connection anywhere in the house

i just use this to surf the web in bed or listen to music watch dvd movies on the go and gps for the car in the future so when i drive it doesnt have to sit in my pocket and do nothing it will keep me at location everywhere :)

what type of movies are you watching? which player? i have a 4700 and it doesnt have the 2700 chipset either . i have no trouble watching any video on it. the PXA310 is better at graphics than the PXa270 so i would check what is causing the problems...

I'll test the 210 at Barcelona. It's based on the PXA310, as opposed to the already-outdated Advantage, which only sports a PXA270. That is, it MUST be much better.

Yup, the Flash 7 plug-in shouldn't be used to play back videos inline - not even from the faster Opera Mobile, let alone the slower IEM. See my related reviews & tips.

HTC advantage, they have 18bit for the screen resolution. The speaker are very loud.. actually, it's louder than my laptop. Here is the specs:

Display Type: color transflective TFT
Display Color Depth: 18 bit/pixel (262144 scales)
Display Resolution: 640 x 480 (307200 pixel)
Display Diagonal: 5 " (128 millimetres)
Viewable Area: 4" x 3" (102.4 x 76.8 millimetres)
Dot Pitch: 0.16 millimetre/pixel
Graphical Controller: ATI Imageon W2284
Audio Subsystem
Digital/Analog Converter: stereo , 16bit audio sampling

The screen and the clearness are beautiful. I found no problem with the Advantage except one problem is the playing certain video is a bit jerky. Some video play smoothly with Core Player and TCPMP. But some video are jerky and slow, sometime not watchable. That's the only thing I hate about the video side. It's does has a chipset, but no support for ATI graphic drivers.

Play youtube video via TCPMP with WIFI show no problem.

As far as the speed, this have

CPU: Intel XScale PXA270
Width of Machine Word: 32 bit
CPU Clock: 624 MHz
CPU Clock Multiplier: 3
Internal Systembus Clock: 208 MHz
CPU Core: Intel XScale
Level 1 cache: 32KB data cache / 32 KB instruction cache
Instruction Set: ARM v5TE

The speed of the device is fast, I don't know that the PX310 on the Ipaq 210 any faster, probably don't see the different anyway. Reboot take about 40 sec.

I will get to it more..

Posting identical topics in several forums isn't very "clean". You really shouldn't do so.
