Widcomm Bluetooth Stack?

Has anyone successfully installed the Widcomm Bluetooth stack on their HP 210? After two weeks, I'm not that thrilled with the sound quality of the bundled Microsoft stack. I get a lot of clipping at the high-end and periodic drop-outs :-(. Wireless audio with the Widcomm stack on my old Axim sounded phenomenal in comparison.

Before I take the plunge, just wanted to make sure this won't cause a hard reset or lock up my HP. Thanks!

Thanks Mingkee. I did not know that :-|. I wonder why I'm hearing so much clipping and drop-outs in Mortplayer and CorePlayer? I usually have the volume on the HP at 50%. My headphones are the Logitech Freepulse.

I know this is kinda messed up
have Total Commander installed, go to \Windows
find BTCommManager.exe (hidden file, File Explorer can't see it), then make link to Start Menu\Programs, you can even assign a button to access
the updated Broadcom stack is pretty good (ver 1.8)
you can do factory reset and setup again
press rec+win+ok when pressing reset

Hello Mingkee,
You might be able to advise me on which stereo bluetooth headphones will work well with the ipaq 214 and also if possible with the Nokia 7500 Prism phone. I understand that both devices are A2DP compliant.
With many thanks
Aowen

press play for 2 seconds, and it'll connect to audio player last connected

Hi,
on IPAQ 214 neither AVRCP nor microphone work on my bluetooth headset. Sound is audible.
The same headset works completely on Vista pc with Broadcom driver version 2.0 + EDR.
I tried the BTconnmanager.exe but cant see a fix.
Help much appreciated

Hi alantdc,

Try the following registry hack for Bluetooth A2DP sound quality improvement.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\Plugin\AV\Line Speed = 256 to 320 instead of default number 200 (decimal)

hi poziko

Can you get AVRCP to work on the 214? Is there a setting in the registry?
The 214 manual mentions a VOIP headset. However, I can get any external microphones to work on it. Does this mean there is no line-in? Since there is only one jack input socket, is it possible for it to be shared between a microphone and headphones or is this technically impossible? HP probably require the IPAQ's inbuilt mike to be used rather than a wired or BT one.
rgds, ruk

Hi ruk,

AVRCP (AV Remote Control Protocol) works with built-in Windows Media Player and CorePlayer to take control of play/pause/playback/forward.
Establish Bluetooth connection with A2DP profile to get AVRCP to work.

I have no idea about VoIP or headset line-in.
I tried BT connection with Headset profile, and microphone embedded in my Bluetooth headphone worked to record my voice with notes.exe recording function.

Cheers,
Pokizo
