i got this nice device, and i like it very much, but...
there is no iTask button like on older ipaqs. it makes it very hard to switch between running apps. any ideas how to "fix" this? and utility?
(something like icon on top of screen, always visible, taping it would show list of running apps and let me switch) ?
or are there any better solutions?
I'd suggest one of the free launchers--not that I can recommend any. I use SBSH iLauncher and/or Lakeridge Software's Wisbar Advanced, but they cost actual money--not that much money given what you get, but money. Both of these actually exit apps instead of just hiding them, if you so choose. (Can't remember if iTask did that or not.)
hehe, i made copy of iTask application from hx2750 running wm2003se, and it works.
now i just need find out how to tweak registry that copied app (not installed) will appear on list under Settings > Buttons
I believe that all you need to do is make a shortcut for it under Windows/Start Menu/Programs. All the shortcuts there should appear when assigning buttons.

Tanker Bob, i think your belief is very strong, since you are right.
made shortcut, iTask appeared on list, assigned to button and i have iTask back :)
thank you (you have no idea how much)
i dont think i can publish those files, since they are part of original WM2003.
i just took hx2750, under windows folder i found 8 files starting with name iTask, copied all those files to 214. then i made shortcut to iTask.exe, placed that shortcut under Windows/Start Menu/Programs, and then in Settings/Buttons assigned hw key to run iTask. i'll post step-by-step this weekend (but no files, since they are licensed)

HP licensed software called GigaTask and installed it on select IPAQs as iTask. Here's a link to GigaTask's website where you can learn more about the software and you can purchase it for $10 if you so desire.
