What about reading?

Hi all!

I have a X51V that I use mainly for reading ebooks (mobipocket).

Now I am thinking about buying an Ipaq 210. But if somebody can ask one question I would be very grateful. I have read that the screen of the Ipaq is much better than the Axim's and without polarization issues (you can use it in landscape mode, right?).

But what about reading in the darkness? The screen of the X51v is a little too bright even with brightness adjusted to its minimum. With a black background the screen appears "washed" (I had previously a Palm Tungsten and a black background was really black).

Any happy new owner of the Ipaq can tell something about this?

Thanks in advance. Regards,

L.

well, black background is not totally black, but its very close.
my next device is hx2750, and ipaq214 can go much darker than it.

no problem setting it to landscape.

in darkness, display set on lowest level is still nice, and readable with no problems. i prefer ipaq214 to my other device for reading books.
what's killing me is wifi/bt LED. when activated in darkness, that blue led is burning blue point in my eye

I also changed to a dark background and light text on both Mobipocket & eReader. That works well for me when reading at night. The screen is pretty bright, so I have turned down the brightness a bit.

As for the annoying LED, How to disable the WLAN blue LED!

Not too bright even with brightness at its minimum, then?

Thanks for your response.

I set mine to a minimum brightness, with black letters, white background. It's easier on the eyes than my X50v. Doctors have reported that black on white is better for the eyes than the reverse.
