VGA Out Possibility

I wonder if it would be possible to use any available drivers with a usb to dvi/vga converter box once hp comes out with a usb cable for the ipaq?

Anyone else interested in having VGA out for the ipaq?

Don't think so. Get a CF/(mini/micro)SD VGA card instead; I've published several articles on them.

Do you know if HP is really thinking about coming out with such a cable for the IPAQ any time in the near future? This has been something people with IPAQs have been wishing for for a really long time to no avail. I, personally, don't see it happening, but ......

I wonder how the Redfly mobile companion works to put the PPC screen onto a larger lcd?

One of the reasons I chose the axim was because of the VGA out ability. Unfortunately, the experience was very laggy for me.

Someone posted a video of the hp USB cable over on brighthand.com. We also know that the new iPaq processor is capable of external video.

I hope hp considers including VGA out capabilities in a future ROM upgrade. If that is even possible.

Still, the Axim is FAR faster (particularly if you disable the built-in screen) than any CF/SDIO-based solution.

Another choice is the i-mate Ultimate 8150 / 6150 (see my related review).

That might explain why HP changed the connection to support the extra pins required for a VGA out signal. I know that is the reason Dell gave for changing their connect with the X51v. Of course, that's just speculation, but it would make sense. And, even if it's true, HP seems to be having issues with getting the device (and its accessories) to market in a timely fashion, so even if they are planning on a VGA cable, it will be months before anyone sees it.
