Picture Comparison of the iPAQ 111/110 and 211/210

I just received an iPAQ 111 that I purchased and am setting up as a gift for my mom, so I thought I'd provide a couple side-by-side photo series for you to compare them by...in case you're still in the market and are trying to decide which one to buy.

Key Differences:
  • Size. Just about the whole 111 fits within the border of just the screen of the 211. The 111 is also thinner, shorter and lighter.
  • Screen. 111 (QVGA) has noticable pixels (more grainy). 111 Screen dimensions are physically smaller, making for smaller displayed print and graphics than its big brother (211)
  • Speaker. 111's speaker is noticably louder, even though it, too, is located on the back of the device
  • Power button. Location on the 111 is on the side of the device, right about where I would grab it to yank it out of its too-snugly-fitting slipcase. I have a hard time taking it out of the case without turning it on, but maybe that's just an added convenience?
  • Stylus. Might just be this particular 111, but the stylus was hard to remove. I'm worried my mom won't be able to remove it. You really have to dig a (whatever you have for a) fingernail in to get the leverage to pry it out.
  • Battery. 111 has about half the battery of the 211. But with a smaller screen should have a slightly slower "burn rate" on the battery.
  • Sync Options. 111 has only one: Mini-USB. 211 has 2: mini-USB and 24-pin HP "Smart" connector. However, the mini-usb cord plugs into the wall prong with a standard USB connector. This means the cord can be detached and used as a more portable charge cord/sync cable.
  • Charging. 111, using only USB to charge, takes more time to charge its relatively have-sized battery than the 211 does off of a wall plug.

Key Similarities:
  • Stylus. Almost identical in size and shape
  • Brightness. Both have the light sensor and respond to light about the same. Both will become blindingly bright if needed.
  • Application Buttons. Same basic size and same grade of plastic, near as I can tell.
  • Navigation Pad. Same for both in size and responsiveness
  • Software. Both come with about the same complement of HP software

Hi, FrinkTL I noticed that you have an Ipaq 211 and an Axim x51v
I was wondering which one I should get. I mean is 128mb ram really worth it. I've used an Ipaq 111 and an HX4700 and my bottleneck is usually the processor and not the ram. I could afford either, it's just a matter of is the 211 really worth it?
