Headphone Jack is a "Free Pass" to Battery

Has anyone besides me noticed that the hole for the headphone jack provides an unrestricted path to the battery compartment?

I don't exactly feel comfortable with that, so I applied a piece of black electrical tape to the hole on the battery compartment side to keep stray dust or even just humidity out of the battery compartment.

A design flaw or a pathway to vent heat?
Very interesting.

Actually, for me, that's the biggest concern. A headphone jack would "plug" (sorry for the pun:rolling:) the hole. I just don't like the idea of allowing humidity (read: WATER) such free access into the battery compartment, where 2 AMPS (2,200 milliamps = 2.2 amps) of electricity are stored. Water and electricity have a long and less-than-friendly history.:exc:

No HUGE deal. I noticed it and easily applied tape to the battery side to prevent the free flow of humidity. Still, it's something everyone should be aware of.
