vanishing emails!

I have a pop account configured (gmail) in "messaging"

If I do a "send / receive" every email in my inbox folder, read ones AND unread ones, disapears. They do not end up in my deleted items folder like mail I delete manualy, they simply vanish without a trace.

Unchecking "delete mail from server" makes no diff.

Anyone can suggest fix for this or a good replacement for "messaging"?

What is the time limit set in the Email synchronization settings? I think it defaults to 1 week. If that time has expired, I believe that ActiveSync will remove the email from the device whether you've read the email or not. Check to make sure that timeframe hasn't expired already, and if it has, you can right click on Email in ActiveSync and select Settings to change the timeframe.

It is sset at the max setting. I go menu/send receive and get my mail, reply to one, go menu/send receive to shoot reply right away and inbox empties itself.

Gmail's pop3 is a little on the flakey side... i had that problem all the time.

I found some solution for this problem. If you put "recent:" in front of your user name (not e-mail address!) you will have all your messages for last 30 days. Good enough for me.
The settings should be:
e-mail: someuser@gmail.com
user: recent:someuser@gmail.com

Hope it helps.
