Well my dad went and lost my PDA....

long time no see guys! been out for a long time.....

well my dad went and lost my trusty old x51v

since then i have been searching for a PDA that was just as good or better than the old brick of might that the x51v was...

my search led me to the HP Ipaq 211, is this model going to be around much longer or is a newer one to come out? im really liking its specs. 128mb DDR RAM looks soo secxy......

i remember when everyone had to go and send their x51s to PPCtechs to get the 128mb upgrade......

especially since WM 6.1 is out, is there going to be an update model?

i dont want to go and buy an obsolete thing right out since i never liked HP support as much as Dell support...... shame they went out of making PDAs after the x51v.....

oh yea... is there something like OzVGA or SEVGA for the 211 to take 100% use of the VGA screen like the x51v?

once i had a taste of VGA, i can say im not gonna go back.. EVER!

About VGA resolution, look for RealVGA (or Real VGA, whatever) on google, you'll find a link to XDA forums... that's what I'm using in a midway 128dpi resolution (not quite full 96dpi VGA which is too small for me, but still fits a lot more data in a screen than what the standard 192dpi does)

so REAL VGA works on WM6? thats great! maaan i love VGA screens..... but why do so few PDAs have them.

i know its reserved for premium devices but theres tons as expensive without em......

thanks Theemed, how do you like your 214? did it give you trouble? is there hardware issues? is there any difference between the 214 and 211? lol is the 214 a foreign model?

Ahah don't let me in on it... or you would end up not buying the device anymore :D Let's say we all agree on the factual drawbacks of 214 (which by the way is the same of 211 or 212 or 210, number just differs from different countries), but some of us are happy to live with them, some other are pissed at it's defaillances and would have preferred to stay with the old device a little longer (me). You can find several posts in the first two pages regarding known problems of the device, read them well before deciding to buy.

I came to the 200 series (they are all the same, as said above) from an hx4700.
My 214 has its flaws but I'm used too them now and prefer it to my hx4700. The extra memory makes a lot of difference.
I'd read the forums and see if the bugs will affect you.
At the end of the day, what other choice is there? There might be another just around the corner but I haven't seen one. I'm not sure that WM6.1 would make much difference to a 200 series iPAQ anyway. I just hope HP will release patches for the bugs it has.

I've had no trouble with WiFi and I haven't installed the patch. I use WPA-PSK at home. It even picks up a couple of unsecured networks near my place of work. (of course, I've never used these.)
I have one problem with one particular network at work, and that's not wireless. FlexMail can't download messages from it (nor can the the built-in client for that matter.) FM's writers seem to be blaming HP for this.

Well, papa needs to visit Circuit City because 211 is on sale now
Buy the HP iPAQ 211 Enterprise Handheld PDA and other PDAs at circuitcity.com

Or, you can stick around a bit and wait for iPaq 910 :)
