Solution? GOD KNOWS. It went back to normal by itself after a few days and a few, normal-use, soft-resets. I just tried re-enabling the ipaqwireless plugin again once and it was working smoothly as it was supposed to do

Thank you Werner, you are the true WM Guru

Now I'm only waiting for Spb Softwarehouse to update their Backup program, and Adaptxt to find a bug fix for backup issues under WM6, and I'll be a happy iPAQ 214 owner

Hmmmm, and maybe HP will bring a fix for this BT problem soon

info on video
I'm still using a 51v but am thinking of buying the 211 for the larger video screen for pictures and videos but have heard mixed results with the video playback. I use mostly avi files with tcpmp. How would you compare the playback on the 21x with the 51v Ax? Thanks!

Also, if you were to choose between the 4705 and the 211 today, which would you buy?

If your only issue is video playback, then keep your Axim, and enjoy it for as long as it lasts. Yes the screen on the 21x is bigger, but the speaker is on the backside, and not up for the task, and you only get 3 remampable buttons, for Play/Pause etc.

If I had to choose today I'd still go for the 21x, because of the newer and more efficient chipset, but if video was my main use, I'd go for the 4700 because of more remapable buttons, better speaker, and the dedikated graphics accellerator chip, and that bit more screen estate, over the Axim, does make a difference too. However the Axim has VGA-Out, which I'm missing on the 21x because PPT is a main issue for my use.

I'd say major issue with playback on 214 is not keys or low speaker (I pause with action/screentap and almost always use headphones for movies), but the absence of a dedicated graphics processor like in the x51v, with a playback framerate way less than the ideal (the final dancing scene at the end of "Meet the Spartans" DivX was more of a 1fps slideshow than a video)

TOYOTA and iPaq 214

A couriosity; my Toyota Corolla car has a BT connection. I tried to let recognize the Ipaq to the car, but... nothing to do.
Does anyone have any idea on how it could be possible to link it?

Thanks
Enrico

I'm surprised on the video playback. I don't notice any difference between the 210 and the 51v whether playing videos in 320x280 or 640x480. What I don't like it the response to in one area of the screen (near the lower right arrow area when scrolling). Is there a program to test each area of the PPC to see if this is a hardware issue?

I think this has to do with the special BT stack in the 21x, which does not support every thing BT :?

It also has difficulties with some HTC phones, and does not support mouse functions

I don't know if it's a hardware or software issue?

The lower-right touchscreen inconsistency has ben widely reported and confirmed for (a lot of) the iPAQs owned in here in the appropriate thread, I personally "corrected" it by fooling the screen alignment procedure.
Regarding the video performance, I would be curious if you posted benchmarks results on the same settings for both X51V and 210, as I do not notice MUCH difference eye-wise while I watch anime, but because I got used to it... since there IS a difference, in the order of 50% less performance compared to my old QVGA iPAQ.

If you're getting the same problem as anyone (that is, you try and drag the scrollbar in the lower area, or press the lower scrolling arrow, but the tap&hold menu in the window area appears instead, it means that in that area the tap is "interpreted" more on the left than it really is. So when you align your screen and press the + symbols on screen, when you are onto the right ones you just have to tap not in the center of the +, but slightly more on the left (may be wrong, don't remember what I did, but should be more on the left).
Same principle applies to vertical inconsistencies.

...but I think we should bring this convo on the appropriate thread... "SEVERE inconsistencies with the touchscreen"
