Ipaq 210 made by Flextronics

I sent my ipaq for servicing and it was shipped to "HP c/o (care of) Solectron". According to Wikipedia, Solectron is a subsidiary of Flextronics an outsourcing firm that produces the Zune, Xbox, Xbox 360. Is this a sign of the apocalypse?

Wow that's a surprise I assumed that the Ipaq was assembled by HP.

10th Million Xbox 360 has been sold today...

I cannot see how an apocalypse can be linked with a success-story...

Lest we forget ...

Vista...

Point being that for a $400 device, other partnerships have produced better quality products (HTC, Apple, Nokia).

In the Ipaq 200 case, it seems HP has outsourced all its engineering (hardware) and is just a branding and services company. However it is the quality of the products (compared to the competition) that will bring the customer back. That being said, HP possess excellent customer service logistics (I guess that is their real core business).

An interesting read on the Confession is Good For the Soul: Why Microsoft Must Be More Forthcoming About the Xbox 360's Flaws--Or Initiate a Recall. Just looking at the number of users with problems posting here, and unlike the Xbox where some users are on there fourth unit, we already have a user that has surpassed that goal... One has to ask, is that 10 million users, or is 2.5 million users that it has taken 4 or more units to find one worth keeping??

One also has to wonder if HP will be anywhere near as invested in the success of the iPAQ two hundred series, as Microsoft is in the Xbox 360....

Not sure that because Flextronics services it, that they make it too. Solectron does service for large PC mfrs. but does not make their products.
