GPS for HP Enterprise 210

I will be buying the new HP Enterprise 210 handheld.

I need GPS capability - the simplest and most compact solution.

Which would work better:
1. Pharos Pocket GPS Navigator with CF GPS Receiver:

Pharos GPS : Products : CompactFlash Portable : Pocket GPS Navigator CompactFlash GPS

Or,

2. Holux GR-271 CF GPS Receiver:

HOLUX - The Pro Name in GPS

Thanks.

I use the Gr-271 in my ipaq. Have you also considered using a Bluetooth gps receiver as well?

I currently use a PharosGPS bluetooth receiver that holds a charge for about 5-6 hours (max). If you think you'll ever be making longer trips, you should make sure whatever you get has a lighter adapter you can use so your receiver doesn't run out of power before you arrive.

I prefer the most compact solution; no extra gadgets.

Is a Bluetooth receiver better?

I have a Pharos GPS with a CF receiver and it works well (I don't have a 210 now). One good thing is that the GPS has a PCI adaptor so you can also use it with a laptop if you want.

Since this is a thread about GPS, can I ask a favor of everyone?

If you use a GPS with your 210, post your likes and dislikes and ease of use of the product, and where I can find it if possible. I'm going to be looking for one soon, preferably bluetooth receiver, and I want the best solution.

I think there was one up here for a big brand name a while ago, like a garmin or tomtom product for pocket PC and a receiver sold separately. It looked nice.

Thanks all,
Ackbar

I can't really advise you on which gps to buy but I must warn you that there seems to be an issue with the CF Card slot in the Ipaq 210. Particularly with cards that require more more power there speed is greatly reduced. E.g. my Transcend 8GB 133x card is very slow often less than 400KB/sec while my low power PNY Optima Pro 4GB 266x is almost twice as fast at 800KB/sec. Since you CF CARD/Gps will draw much more power it may impact the performance of the mapping software. You might be Better off with a bluetooth GPS. Sure it's another gadget but some are very small...small enough for a key chain.
