I just bought a new iPaq 214 and when I tried to turn the WiFi on the iPaq locked up, I did a soft reset but the WiFi button on the today screen was grey, no red x to say it was turned off and not green to say it was connected. When I clicked it nothing happened so I went into the Settings Connection tab and tried it there but nothing. Did another soft reset and the WiFi disappeared altogether! Not on any Wireless connection tabs, not in the HP Asset list nowhere.

I tried a hard reset but that didn't fix it either, I don't know what else to try.

I have searched the forums and found that some users had this problem with the bluetooth tab which just disappeared and found a fix for it but nothing for the WiFi, has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have a fix? I know I can send it back under warranty but that will take upto 2 weeks as it was purchased online and I have to get a returns number from HP before my supplier will take it back.

Just my two cents here but if you actually did a hard reset and it did not fix the problem, you have a hardware issue. A hard reset should have erased everything and returned it to an out of box condition.
