I use an OnCourse BT-339 bluetooth GPS. Works great.

The bigger issue is the GPS software. Most work with the HP 210. TomTom 6 does not unless you download release 6.03 from their web site.

I have the Tom Tom 6 Navigator system for sale on this site. Go to Classifieds and look for For Sale Axim X61v + extras. I sold the Axim but have the Tom Tom for sale there.

I am using two different ones that work great. The Globalsat and the RoyalTek that is also a logger. I use them with ArcPad and with SprintDB that can record coordinates.

I purchased the visiontac back when they had it for $99 on this site and use it with route 66. Everything works well once you figure out the bloody channels the gps needs to communicate through (i do not use "manage GPS automatically). other than that, the 4" screen is great for navigation. I have a nice setup in my car that makes the low volume of the speaker not that big of a deal. What i find works best is the following (for me)

First, plug in your car power plug for the 210, got to power settings and select fast charge. (This allows the unit to stay charged while still allowing the full brightness, bluetooth and navi software to run. I sometimes have music on as well.) connect a BT headset. Setup the BT GPS and navi software, set you destination before you get rolling (safety first) now all of your directions will come through the headset and you do not have to worry about missing commands.

I also have installed to my factory radio an aux input, and added a splitter. I can now plug in my satallite radio and IPAQ to get sound from both. be careful when you crank up your favorite song though, nothing worse than listening to "life is a highway, im wanna drive it all night *(&%^ take the next exit(&*()*" I have the volumes matched for driving, but sometimes forget if I turned one up to loud. This allows me to go without the bt headset and still hear the directions as well. either one works for me.

Hi there guys, 1st post here to this excellent forum!

Just to let you know that I happen to own a Royaltek RBT 2110 BT GPS antenna and it works perfectly! I use Destinator 7. I always get fast sat readings and quick responses. I happened to see that the 214/2110 combo works well in a hardcore GPS Greek forum so I copied the recipe

Hope that helped :approve:

Hello guys to this excellent forum.I own hp 214/rbt 2110 and today i found that the 24pin adapter for 214 ac charger can be used to the roayltek 5volt car charger for charging the pda.:rolling: The best thing is that the device charges quicker than the usb charger.

GPS for 200 series

I use a Garmin GPS 10X receiver, with Garmin Mobile® XT software and a bluetooth headset.
My iPAQ210 connects via bluetooth to both the Garmin receiver and headset.. It works great!

I bought my iPAQ 210 and Garmin products as a package from HP.

I use the Bluetooth headset because the volume from the 210 is a bit low. Generally I can hear it from the 210, with the headset I can always hear it.

See the links for Garmin products:

I have a Ipaq 214 and a nokia N95 8G, because they are complementary, i wanted to pair the N95 8G with the big 214 screen, i try to use a software in the n95 call ExtGPS that should make your n95 to be like a Bluetooth GPS but with out success. Wish my Ipaq 214 could use the N95 Stereo Speakers but i am giving up because the Ipaq only take my phone like a headset device and not a speaker one.

Icon14 Nokia N78 as a bluetooth GPS with Hp ipaq 211: symarctic extGPS, and franson gps gate

The main catch in the process is, that unlike built-in GPS receivers, discovery of GPS hardware by the HP ipaq 211 is totally dependent on satellite FIX.:exc:
i.e. you cannot configure the devices for use if there is no GPS fix!!! (indoors where there is no GPS fix )
What is needed:
1. ExtGPS (freeware)- Symarctic ExtGPS
Install on phone

2. Franson GPS gate
Install on pocket pc

3. Go outdoors and run ExtGPS on phone UNTILL YOU GET A GPS FIX, i.e. green satellite indicator!:approve:

4. In the pocket pc > start > settings > system > External GPS select all the ports (None), and UNcheck the Manage GPS automatically

5.Run the the GPS Gate on pocket pc, the Settings > Input > select bluetooth GPS, select your phone etc.. and in > Output Add output [virtual COM2 / (All NMEA) NMEA filter.

6. That's it, the GPS Gate icon will turn green. :celebrate

7. Run your navigation software e.g. I-go, or GPS tuner, etc..... and enjoy navigation on the big ppc screen instead of the small one on the phone. :)

P.S. I wanted to post links to the software, but it seems that I cannot unless I have 15 posts or more

Yes, I have. I have been using the Pharos GPS, which I have been using (across a couple of software versions) since I my Axim X30. It works quite well. There are several other GPS software products out there that are designed for the Windows Mobile platform.

One suggestion that I would offer is that you get a bluetooth enabled GPS receiver (or one that can at least dock with a bluetooth transmitter/receiver. It makes it much easer to use (and connect) to not have to route wires everywhere across the dash of the car.
