Just got the Ipaq 211. Unlike my old axim it doesn't charge while syncing. There is a power option for Allowing USB charging but this doesn't do it. I surmise from the manual that I need to buy the optional mini-usb cord to charge from a computer. Otherwise I have to use the AC adapter. Right?

Also, I have a cigarette lighter plug that accepts my ipod usb cord so I can charge it while driving. I guess if I got the optional Ipaq cord, I could plug into it too. That is, USB voltage is all the same for ipods, ipaqs etc. Right?

Right for the first... the usb to 24-pin connector only has the data channels wired to usb, you need the additional ac plug to make it charge.
Regarding the mini usb chord, I find it weird you have to BUY one... I mean, I have 4 of them hanging around at home, a lot of devices use them... heck, even latest motorola phones has miniusb plug chargers which work with the 210 ;)

Also, you can use cigarette lighter usb adapter with a miniusb cord to charge it. But anyway all answers to your questions are covered in other threads in this forum.
