New to Vista Sycnhronization

I just got a new laptop running Windows Vista Business and I can't sem to get Vista to correctly recognize my iPAQ 211. Of course, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to Vista so maybe I'm missing something obvious. However, when I plug the USB cable into the port, the only thing Vista seems to be interested in is synchronizing the music between the 2 devices, rather than all of the Outlook data.

I'd be surprised if there isn't a thread out there already that discusses this, but I couldn't seem to come up with the right search terms to find it. Could someone please help me? I'm sorry for creating a duplicate thread; I try to avoid that sort of thing. If someone could just provide me with a couple of links, that would be great:
  1. A link to general information on synchronizing WM devices to Vista and Vista's Sync Center in general
  2. a link to detailed instruction on how to properly set up a partership to syncronize Outlook (and my Money files, too).

Thank you in advance for your assistance. Thanks to Vista, I feel like a complete idiot all over again!:o

Windows Mobile Device Center is the key phrase you need for starters.

Just a note to clarify the above posts.

Vista uses Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) instead of ActiveSync to connect to your device.
"Vista's Sync Center" is a slightly different program and is basically for synchronizing media players etc.

Look in the activeSync forum... Plenty of information there on this.

Thanks so much for the link. I had no idea that I had to install software, as I had been assuming that the softwware came with Vista. Not so. Anyway, thanks again for the info, as I would probably have spun my intellectual wheels for quite awhile longer without your assistance.
