Second battery dieing on me

For the second time a battery just stopped working out of the blue. I turn off the device (which is working correctly, apparently) and when I go to turn it on, it won't.
The first time I could press the reset switch, but after it got to the green windows mobile logo it turned off right away. Connecting the device to a charger I could turn it on, but it showed no battery at all, not even 1%, and keeping it on charge did nothing.
This second time same exact thing, except the fact I can't even reset, since the blue boot screen doesn't appear. Charging the device, same exact thing.
This happened with the new device I got as replacement, the one with 8390 in its serial number.
I booted with the powered 24pin connector and no battery, it booted, but as soon as I started Note, it hung again as it does usually. I am doing a hard reset as of now.
WHAT-THE-HELL.

By the way, I have another same device where the batteyr would not go past 40% charge... same thing with the serial number, one of the last models.
I may ask a battery replacement, and if that doesn't solve, I'll go for a device replacement (would be the fifth).

Hard resetted. 3 times.
Checked if it could be cause of a bad SD, but had the same problem either with 16GB SD, 8GB SD, or no SD at all.
Picked up an old backup from the SD on another device which had no problems, restored from there... and WALLA it worked. God knows what settings got borked in the meantime, but the old backup wasn't messed up. Also, I got the battery on the other device (the one which couldn't go past 40%) charge up to 100% (or at least show 100% charge) just by connecting it to a miniusb off this PC...
As of now everything is going ok to the best of my knowledge, and to the best of my surprise... but I still got 2 original batteries dead to the pulp which I'll have to get exchanged.
