Bubbles, Bubbles, Screen protector troubles

I don't know if I like these screen protectors or not. Have read that brand makes a difference. Bought some cheap ones and am wondering what to do?

I put the protector on but after less than a day it forms bubble pockets. It kind of looks like your looking through a thick piece of glass. Also glares in the light?

Try using a credit card (or something similar) to push out the bubbles. If it's possible to re-apply the protector, that might help too. As for the thickness and the glare, I'm afraid there's not much you can do except for get a better protector.

I recommend NuShield - no bubbles. But in the past when I had bubbles I used the slightest amount of moisture, like glasses cleaning solution. WARNING - if you get this moisture into the PDA you could toast it. So... I spray the moisture on the screen side of the screen protector then shake it to remove almost all of the moisture. Then position it and use the card that typically comes with the screen protectors to squegee it out. I keep a tissue to immediately gather any moisture at the edges. Usually this works great, but still over time the edges release and bubbles appear from the perimeter. That is why I changed to NuShield. I don't have any of that to deal with now.'

I've never had a problem with Boxwave (or any of the more expensive brands) developing bubbles over time. Sometimes I'll apply one and capture a few bubbles, but they have always tended to work themselves out (go away) over the first couple days after the application.

I guess I'm glad I've never bought one of the cheap-o brands.:-D

I tried the boxwave clear touch and had the bubble problems. I installed exactly as they described. I use the PDA outside so I think some of the imperfections show up when they might not inside. Here all the protectors I have tried. Fellowes WriteRighter - suck, Belkin- suck, BoxWave - so so, NuShield - great.

I quite agree with this technique. It works best in a steamy bathroom. :approve:

Its really hard to get them on if you want it perfect. One little spec of dust makes a bubble, or if you touch the sticky side it is there for good. You get one chance to get it on there good and if you make a mistake you have to throw it away. I got so fed up with them, I'm using clear projector sheets. I had invisible shield on at one point, but even it got scratches after a while.

Cool screenguard

I have been using screenguardz on my Dell Axims and My Ipaq 111, 211
On the axims I had to work at getting the bubble out, on the Ipags was very easy.
It must be something in the Axims screen. In fact on the 1st one on the ipaq 111 i used a Axim one trimmed without any bubbles.

there's an easy way to avoid bubble
perpare 2 scotch tapes
when applying, starting from a corner, and "roll" across the screen
if you get dust, use the tape peel it back up, and use another tape to remove

I still say: cheapo protectors from ebay save the day.
I bought this 10 sheets pack for around 4 euro shipping included (probably less, don't remember) and I am totally satisfied. It just requires lot of attention while applying (read: credit card-ish thing and big handycraftness is aboslutely NEEDED), but the results are still lasting after months (no bubbles, good adherence, barely any scratches). And I still got several spared in the envelope....
