I have just purchased a new Ipaq 212 as a replacement for my Sony TH55.

Although the Ipaq 212 has great features, I am rather disappointed with Excel Mobile 6, particularly with regards to cell protection. I protect certain cells (with cell format & password) in order not to over-write formulas in error while inputting data while in the field.

The Microsoft website is a bit misleading with it's information and it seems that if you protect a portion of your Excel document the WHOLE document is non editable, in other words you cannot input data - what's the point of that ??

Does anyone have a work around for this?

Probably the best workaround is to avoid Pocket Excel altogether! Fortunately, there is an excellent (and free) alternative, SpreadCE from Bye Design.

I've checked and you can protect sheets at cell level :approve: The only downside is the splash screen at start up but, if you really can't live with that, donate $10 and get the registered version.
