Is The HP 210 Better than Dell X51v

I have a high bid on this HP 210 pda on ebay and i think i may be able to get it for less than 230 dollars. I was one of the early Aximsite members and bought every Dell pda since the advent of the X5. The dell axim x51v is great and i may get another one however, this pda from hp looks really cool. Is it equal to or better than the axim when it comes to using as an mp3 player or a movie player to see videos. I would appreciate the replies.

I have both a hp 211 and axim x51v. Cost: HP is way higher. Loooks: hp is way better. Screen size: HP is way better. Reading: HP is way better Volumne: Axim is way better

email: hp is way better HP has windows mobile 6. HOw long it will last: Not in yet but from what I"ve seen axim is way better. Pocket IE speed: Same.

Summary: If same price hp 211 If there is some cost difference I'd go with the axim x51v.

I know you said 210 but I only know the 211 hope this helps somewhat.

I would like to emphasize you will notice a difference with the speaker. Its just not as good as the axim x51v. People have mentioned the scroll button. I don't see that as a problem.

I went from an X50v to the HP 210 and I've been very happy with it. The extra ram goes a long way to keep things going smooth without having to worry about what programs are open or closed. The device is very stable and the screen is much better in landscape mode than the x50v. I'm not sure if the 51v had the same problem but the 50x screen was slightly polarized so that landscape viewing was a bit dull.

The external speaker is low compared to the dell but you won't notice it with headphones. Some have complained about a his but I have not noticed it and there are solutions on the boards if you do have problems. Standard Battery life is better and the faster wifi is also a plus.

I would recommend the upgrade if you have a good deal going.

I had an x50v and a x51v and now have ipaq 211
211 larger screen, sturdier device as fast and v6 , more memory.
x51v I would not buy the 211 just for mp3 unless your x51v stopped working.

I have Axim X51V (with Windows Mobile 5) and HP ipaq 214. Ipaq has one serious drawback: animations (on TCMCP) are not such fluent - and maybe I haven't any needed driver? Wireless on ipaq is much better.

Hi!

I have bought the Core Player Mobile for ipaq 214 and expected, that movies will be better than on Axim X51V (more RAM, Windows Mobile 6 etc.) Alas, on Axim (TCMCP) the movies are better, nothing changed. Maybe it makes the graphic accellerator on Axim? Help, please!

Hi!

Any answers? I have one; it is OK, when the movie is 640x480 (such as ipaq's screen) and 25 fps. When the movie has to be converted by PDA, is not good - I have converted all movies on my desktop to 640x480. Axim doesn't need the conversion, all movies (mostly 756x512) are OK!

Axim x51v has the better sound clarity by far. When watching movies I'll watch from the x51v and when reading use the hp211. Very different models.

I bet the x51v lasts another ten years and the 211 maybe 3.

Apparently scaling of videos demand alot of the graphics hardware (and/or software).
The Axim's dedicated graphics chip is awesome, but Core Player Mobile v.1.2.3+ should utilize the graphics processing in pxa310 pretty well.
Be sure to download the latest Coreplayer mobile.
