farewell HP211
Now I got T-Mobile Touch Pro 2.
It's not the greatest, but at least I don't encounter sudden crash, or messy touchscreen like HP211.
The most frustrating thing is HP never releases ROM update, that it's already dead even on the date of purchase.
The only thing I miss is the ample storage (32GB+16GB).

thanks to this post I just came to know of the existence of this device. Looks good from what I've seen! Gps being a welcome addition :)
Believe it or not tho, it being a phone is a letdown because of the single sim. I have my own chinese tv mobile with 2 sims online at the same time, and I got too used to having a dual sim phone to go back to single sim ones. Yet who knows... I was just looking for alternatives after the speaker on this device died again.
EDIT: FRIGGING expensive! Silly me I checked the price last, after falling in love with the meat. We have no carrier subscription plan here in italy that cuts the cost, so sure being in the same price zone of iphone, there's no dilemma among the two, still I wouldn't pay twice what I payed for this 214 more than a year ago.

consider the fact
it's a combo of PDA and 3G phone, the price is OK for me (550 without contract)

Any reason you got it without a contract? It's $350 with a new 2-year contract. Also, was it hard to get used to the slightly smaller screen and no d-pad? I'm considering upgrading to the Touch Pro 2, but I'm also quite happy with the HP210 and may just wait for one of the upcoming Snapdragon devices that can run WinMo 7.

I have both. Check that. I have a 211 and a TouchPro, not a TouchPro 2. I need the ample storage on the HP 211--can't study Chinese or keep music and pix of family without both eternal cards. too bad it's not a phone too. Then I wouldn't have to carry around the TouchPro in addition to the iPAQ.
Also, I don't like using the tiny screen of the TouchPro for anything detailed or complicated. Way too awkward. It's just a phone for me, albeit it a very pretty phone.
Not only does HP not release ROM updates, but, for me, their warranty hasn't been worth the price I paid for it. When I got it, it had a couple of flaws--one of which was a flaky adapter connection--and they got worse as time went on. When I finally couldn't stand it anymore, I tried to invoke my three-year next-day replacement warranty, but these specific problems are not covered by the warranty. After a lot of phone calling back and forth and back again, I had to place full price for each repair.
Still, if they continue to offer dual expansion cards, and if they remain the only ones to do so, I'll have to buy another iPAQ (when it becomes necessary). Or, upgrade the ROM on my Axim x51V and go back to it.

it takes a while to get used to TP2
voice quality is fantastic, reception is good, but I hate PIE on WM6.1, luckily Opera is included
