Reminder pops up, ipaq doesn't shut off?

Anyone have this problem?

A reminder comes due. Your ipaw turns on to display the reminder. The ipaq doesn't shut off after x minutes. Happened to me this morning. Dead as a doornail.

Usually just acknowledging the reminder will allow your iPAQ to go back to sleep. Check your model's File Download page on the HP site and see if you need to apply any updates...

No animals or trees were harmed in the production of this post - however, several billion electrons were seriously inconvenienced.

Yep, I konw that acking will do that. The problem is that my ipaq will be in my pocket for hours. Reminder goes off, muted, and screen stays lit for hours depleting the battery. No updates.

It did it to me again today.

I'm a little confused. Why would you want to enable reminders, then mute the sound so that you cannot hear the reminders?

Or are you saying that the sound is on, but is muted by the iPAQ being in your pocket? In this case, increase the volume so that future reminders succeed in getting your attention.

If you do not normally care to be reminded in the first place, then I would disable the notification option on your meetings, appointments, etc. This will solve the problem at the source.

As I normally acknowledge each of my reminders, I cannot say whether or not my iPAQ would continue to stay-on for 5minutes and then go into power-save mode, or stay-on until the batteries ran out... Sorry. :(

If you don't delete the notification option altogether as Elrendhel mentioned, take a look at your notification settings. How long are the notifications set to display? Are they set to repeat?

(Just in case you or someone else does not know how to do this:

To view notification settings: Tap Start > Settings > Personal tab > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications tab)

And you've checked to confirm that the pocket pc is set to turn off on battery power after a set number of minutes. If your reminders are set to be on for 5 minutes and your time off is less than 5 minutes then it won't work. The notification will keep the pocket pc on. Make sure the notification display time is less than the turn off on battery power setting.
