I have two h2215's that I want to keep working.
One of them needs a new battery door interlock switch. The switch stopped working reliably, so I removed it and bypassed the connection so the device would keep working. Only problem is changing the battery causes a hard reset, so I can't change batteries on the fly without plugging into power.
Both have D-Pads that don't work reliably. I'm wondering whether it's even worth replacing the switches: Compared to my X50v and X51v they are infuriating to begin with. I'v always had to disable the "center" button feature when I use a flip case because the flap presses the button when I close it. :realmad:
I use these hp's as music players, or to run older software that don't run on newer devices. I even use them for GPS because of good battery life and to keep my Dell PDA's out of harm's way. :hide:
So my quesion is, does anyone know of a cheap source of these switches? Or am I best off posting "WTB: old h22xx's" and hope the switches are in good shape?
Maybe some of you are in the same situation. Feel free to clutter my thread with your experiences. :)
