Aximsitex3icon Why Companion CD hard to find

I'm getting a 2210/15 and the companion CD has been lost. Why is it so hard to get a replacement, which seems to be the case for many model IPAQ's

People seem to think the companion CD has some kind of buried treasure on it...it doesn't. The companion CD is not very important - all it has on it is some user documentation (maybe), a copy of ActiveSync, which you can download from Microsoft's website, a copy of Outlook 2002, and maybe some demo software. In some cases, there might be a couple of free applications on it, but since the h2210 is a pretty old pocket pc, the applications that might have been included on the CD have probably been updated heavily and you probably want to purchase the most recent version of software (that's assuming your device even came with free software).

To sync your data between your computer and pocket pc:

You can get user documentation for the 2210/2215 from HP's website.

Your Pocket PC can sync to Outlook 2002, 2003 or 2007. If you don't already have Outlook (the full version of Outlook, not Outlook Express) on your computer, you'll need to purchase it. If you google Outlook 2007, you'll probably find an inexpensive version you can purchase.

You can download fully functional 30 day trial software for just about every piece of pocket pc software you might want to purchase directly from the developer's website.

Email Clients for iPAQ's

Thanks Julie,
That is conforting info for a newbe to Pocket PC's... 2 more questions if you dont mind.

1) I have Outlook 2000 that came on the companion CD for my h1910, I am moving up to a h2215. Can I use that version of Outlook with the 2215?

2) Could my 2215 or older iPAQ use Windows Live Mail?

Thanks again
