Does a USB sync\charger have enough juice to charge a dead battery? (H2200)

I have an Ipaq H2200, that I bought at a garage sale ($8 with a 1 GB SD card). It didn’t come with a charger.

Would a USB sync\charger have enough juice to fully charge a completely dead battery?
Or do I need to buy a “plug in the wall” charging cord?

why I'm asking is the USB sync\charger is cheaper on ebay.

Thanks. :)

I don't have an h2200, but the USB port on my computer is not enough to charge a flat battery in my IPAQ hx2415. Have you tried it to see if it will work?

Depending on how old the battery is and how long it laid around inside the h2200, the battery may not take a charge at all and you may need to purchase a new battery for it right away.

I don't know how long it's been uncharged.

Do you know what the middle contacts on the battery are?
The rightmost is marked (+) and the leftmost is marked (-) but the middle two aren’t marked are they just duplicates or something else?

Why I’m wondering is I have a transformer the right amperage and voltage to either charge the battery or run the PDA, and I’m handy enough to construct it.

I don’t want to spend much on it since it may or may not work and I’m planning on selling it.
