SD card capacity for 2215.

Is 2GB the maximum SD card capacity for the 2215? I tried a 4GB SD, would not read or write consistently. Does the CF card provide greater capacity?

I've used both a 4GB SD and CF card in my 2215 without any problems.
I used Kingston brand cards, both bought from NewEgg.

What brand of cards are you attempting to use? And what type of files are on the card (and size)?

David

SD card capacity for 2215.

David, thanks for your reply. The SD card was an off brand, don't remember the name. It may have been one of those 2GB SDs re"programed" and sold as a 4GB that I saw reported on the web. I'll try the Kingston brand you've used.

I'm running 2003. If you're running 2003SE plese let me know - that might make a difference. And I've been wondering if A. the 2215 can upgrade to the SE? B. are there any great advantages in doing so?
Thanks again for your help.

I'm running Mobile2003 (not SE).
There are certain issues with the cards that came from MP3 players (Hitachi worked well for me). Other brands were questionable and a hit-or-miss.

Back in the day, HP didn't offer the SE upgrade for the 2215, but I haven't checked in a few years, so that might have changed.
The SE upgrade was tried on a 2215 but caused many hardware issues, thus the reason they didn't offer it at that time.

SD card capacity for 2215

David, thanks for your information. I am going to live with my 2GB card for now but when I buy the 4 I'll post a note on how it works.

As far as I know (I may be wrong) there are no hardware or software limitations on SD or CF cards the issue is that of card quality and the PPC ability to handle amount of input from the card. WM 2003 se is not available for the H22xx series and if you find it I would be leary of it there were hardware issues that did not get resolved.

Oh yeah the H22xx series rocks.
