Greetings to the list

I don't know if I have asked this before or not, old age setting in!!.
I tried to restore a file from a backup on my CF card, the restore operation completed OK, but the 2210 hung up following the reset. I could only take out the battery and reset the device, when I got home I restored from a backup file on my PC, same result. Can anyone help me get back my data?

Your personal data should still be on your Host PC that you normally synchronize with, if you have one.

Your personal data on the device is likely gone, or replaced by whatever data you might have had on your device back whenever the backup was created, which could be greatly outdated. Restorals are destructive to a File/Folder when those same File/Folder combinations are overwritten. Files that you created recently which did NOT exist previously may still be safe.

The backup program bundled with iPAQs is typically a stripped-down version of SPRITE BACKUP. If this is the case in your device's build out, then conceivably you could purchase the full version of SPRITE BACKUP and be able to browse the backup file and extract the specific files and folders you want or need. I would chat with SpriteSoftware about the feasability of my theory BEFORE investing in their software (it's great software anyways, so it wouldn't be a big loss if you did buy it outright).
