it sure seems lonely in the 36xx forum.

I used to have a 3630 many years ago now.

I have had my H3630 since they first come in the UK and upgraded to Pocket PC 2002 in October 2001.

Use it daily for reading offline pages and eBooks but do love a game or two.

Was suppose to retire the unit in January 2003 when I got my XDA but never happened as I love it so much... Showing its age now but still going strong...

I have had palm devices for a long time now, but I just recently acquired a 3650 and I am loving it. Most of my palm machines are a few years old, so this technology is leaps and bounds ahead of what I am used to.

I have a 3630. Bought the Compaq CF Expansion Pack Plus. Use it to run Mapopolis with CF GPS, and watch movies ripped from my DVDs on plane flights stored on 512 Mbyte CF and listen to music.

Use Dr. Divx to compress DVD mgeg-2 to 320x240 pixel format at 30 fps. Movie size is beween 220-400 Mbytes depending on movie length. Battery is usually good for two movies (with expansion pack plus battery). Use PocketMVP to play the movies, and my mp3s. Cool program.

Currently not all that happy with the state of technology of PDAs, I will wait to upgrade until screens are at least 640x480 pixels (surfing the web is a waste of time on the 320x240 pixel), they have 256 MBytes of RAM and batteries last longer. Until then, they are just cool toys.

I have a 3635 with a dual compactflash sleeve. I have a 256mb storage card dedicated to one slot and I alternate between a wifi card, fm radio and another storage card with the other slot.
I've thought about purchasing a newer model with WM 2003 on it but I just can't justify the expenditure. This ipaq does all that I need and it does it well. It's awesome! I'd like to see more about what others do with their 36xx series ipaqs!

I have about the same set up as Dan, I use wifi and 256 and 128 cf. I have a low power ethernet card for networking at work. I used mine for checking systems on the Instrumentation of the new cobra helicopter, when I worked on them. using the hot sync cable and a cross talk cable would plug into the system prior to test flights on the cobra Z. This would save me dragging a laptop around and save alot of time wasted on boot up on the laptop.
Had movies and pics of the helio in action stuff like that. just bought a new battery so I'm starting over with all re installs.
Right now I'm trying to get it to sync with my laptop win xp pro , but she just doesn't want to work, that's O.K. I have all my stuff on main pc.

I have a h3630 from when they came out. It got shelved when the screen digitiser went flaky on me. I only used it as a plaything (boys toys). I bought a CF jacket for it to get it WiFi-enabled, that worked a treat with a D-Link DCF-650W card, although it did bulk out the h3630.

I then bought the Navman GPS jacket and software which I still use to navigate around the UK when I'm going to far off places...... I was really pi55ed though, within weeks of buying the Navman they brought out the sofware with speech directions and no upgrade except to buy it all over again. Needless to say Navtech have never got my business since! Grrrrrrrrrrr Still, it works like it says on the tin so I cannot complain too bitterly.

The h3630 was recently revived into active service when I started flirting with PPC again. The Palm Tungsten T has been semi-retired and the h3630 brought out into service as I migrated across to a Dell Axim X30 High. I only wanted one set of calendar/data/contacts. Once over to PPC I am not going back, that was always my intention. However, problems with the X30 mean its going back to Dell for a refund. I now have a h4150 fully operational and doing everything I want/need it to over and above what the h3630 does, and in a smaller form factor.

So what happens to the h3630 now? It remains my back-up device to the h4150. I keep them both Activesync'd so if one decides to go west I at least can carry on my days work.

I've downloaded the PPC2002 upgrade which is now free (it was chargable at the time and with my digitiser problems I couldn't be bothered). Thats my next job on the list - give the h3630 a new OS to feed on.

Marvelous

those of you still using PPC2000 should upgrade to PPC2002 and breathe new life into your units.

http://www.compaq.be/publicimages/iP...etPC/Software/

both english and french versions are available.

Then apply all the patches from HPs site to get it up to the EUU3 level. You will be very happy you did.

You said FM radio card? How do you like it? I have been researching them. I would really like to see a CF TV tuner w/ FM/AM tuner COMBO card for $64.87! I would buy it right now (if the TV reception was good).
