My IPAQ 3870 is dead
By saying dead I mean that after plugging in power it displays only IPAQ Pocket PC white/red screen.
Nothing else happens
Can anyone help me??

Have you tried updating the ROM before this happeded, or tried a hard reset?

No I have not tried to update ROM.
Hard reset is not helping at all... I'm confused as hell
I'm afraid I would have to send it for repair...
But... maybe I'm doing something wrong trying to hard reset it?

As for the extended warranty... errr... ehmm... well... no...

To hard reset it, which will fix it. I had the same problem. Hold the outside two hard buttons, power button, and soft reset switch all at once. Then, you will see the soft reset logo and all of a sudden, the backlight will shut off and the image will fade. Wait until the image fades and about 10 seconds more and then soft reset the device. You should then be up and running. It sounds like the system crashed. That happened once to me. Note that you will lose any data but you already lost that since the battery died...WAIT. If the battery died and it shut off, then I think that automatically performs a hard reset! I don't know. I would try what I said anyway. Sorry that I might be wrong, that never occured to me!
