Problems w/Sandish 256mb card
I'm using a sandisk 256mb SD card on my iPaq 3955. Every so often, the iPaq forgets that the card is there. I have to remove and reinsert the card. I had a 128 Sandisk card and I didn't have this problem.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

have you tried to update the ipaq's rom to the lastest as posted by hp themselves. try to do so and remember to remove your memory card first.

Had the same problem until I have updated the rom. since then okay

I tried the update but I still seem to have the same problem. I do get better error messages with the update. It seems to be connected with the screen shutting off. If I manually turn off the iPaq, no problem but if I let it shut off automatically, it can't find the card when I restart. I found that removing and reinserting the card wakes it up.

Check to see if you have any programs the run at startup and it is installed on the SD card. Any programs that is in the startup folder should be installed to main memory. Upon startup it takes the SD slot a minute to initialize. Also make sure that you don't have any today plugins installed to the SD card. When turning on the device, the today plugin tries to initialize before the SD slot wakes up.

Just a thought.
