Major help needed...please
Ok I have a Ipaq 3700 and I freakin love it.
About 3 days ago I ordered the 3450 Navman Gps sleeve.
Yesterday my Ipaq just starts acting all screwy.
If you tap the screen it goes nuts.
So I of course try to recalibrate the screen alignment.
Then i could not get off the screen alignment.it just kept starting over and over.
Finally it goes thru but the sreen still goes nuts when you touch it with the stylus.
I upgraded the rom with the same results.Tried a hard and soft reset.I think it may be intrernal. The only time i ever opened it was to change the battery.
My navman should be here by today and im dying to try it out but I know I wont be able to with the screen acting like this.
Thanks in advance
John

This sounds like it is a problem with the touch recognizer. Perhaps call HP or Compaq about it, but I doubt you will have any luck considering it is such an old unit. You could still give it a shot, but I doubt they will help unless you pay for the replacement.

Thanks.I went into a live chat and after all the basic reset suggestions they said there gonna mail me a box to send my unit in.
I dont think i will though becuase of 2 reasons:
1. They wont tell me how much till they examine it.and how much could it be worth?
2.I banged the back of it with my fist and it started working perfect again.Altough I know it will probably happen again at some point I would rather buy one on ebay then pay them more to fix this one.

I think that's wise. I would just use it until it dies. There's no doubt that if HP has to fix it they will charge you. You might as well sink that money into another unit. I am sure that you probably got good usage out of the one that you have.
