I got my Ipaq 3835 off of eBay in November, and I have been loving it as a first time PDA user... the only downside though is how fast the battery drains! I keep the backlight to not even 25% and the battery only lasts a few hours, 2 and 1/2 at the most. My A+ certification class' teacher has an Axim and he said he only charges his once a week, and that is with heavy use. It dosent matter if I'm playing solitare which requires little memory or using all of my program memory using an emulator, it still drains about the same rate. Im guessing it has to do something with the previous owner, but I'd still like to know if there is an easy way to fix this since I have read how hard it is to replace batteries in my model. Unless the usual battery life for the 3835 is normally an hour or two? The seller also purchased the iPaq at Staples with an extended warranty... would this battery problem be a valid reason to replace/repair?

I know it's been a while since you posted this, but a friend of mine has the same problem with his 3xxx series ipaq. He's quite bitter and annoyed about the whole thing. He can't go too far away from a charger. Did you have any luck with your warranty?

Well for different reasons I sent it in to get my backlight working again.. guess I should have asked them to check out the battery too. Unfortunately battery life is still crappy as ever. It's not too horrible now, because I forced myself to get used to the backlight up just a notch (literally, so it's JUST on), sometimes I turn it up a bit more, but if I turn it up too much then I remember what I'm missing with a bright backlight lol. Just tell him to get used to a dim backlight... it really isnt that bad after you get used to it. It's a REAL battery saver. Also, if your friend ever finds a solution post it here or send me an e-mail :P
