3850 upgraded to 2003 doesnt see wifi
I am hoping someone has an addition to what I think I have found - I have a 3850 that I recently upgraded to Windows Mobile 2003 I was using a compaq wlan (HNW-100) pc card and none of the drivers from the Compaq/HP site seem to work - as the "zero configuration" wifi utility doesnt show at all. I have both the PCMCIA and CF abilities available to me but don't want to buy something new - because - if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Any ideas?

You will need WM2003 drivers to get things working. I had my doubts if any drivers for WM2003 could be found since the card is a little old. However after some searching I have found a thread on Pocket PC Magazine's site regarding this. According to the info that I have found, you can use these drivers with you card and it should work fine.

Here is the link that I uncovered on PPCMag's site.

Thanks for the attempt - I grabbed those drivers and installed them. Seem very similar to the Compaq drivers but still dont recognize the card - maybe its just time to buckle down and resell the old one then get a new one! If anyone else has an offering on what may be happening - please do!

Have you uninstalled the old drivers before installing the new ones?

I know that is the standard question - and I have to reply - of course!

Had to ask. You'll be surprised how many people would forget to uninstall the old drivers.
