Problem with 3850 upgraded to PPC2003
Hi All,

I recently purchased Windows Mobile 2003 from HP, being finally prompted to do so, by the 'threat' on their website of it being discontinued.

Anyway, I've upgraded, but am having a few problems.

When I leave the iPAQ for any length of time, and it powers off, it then always requires a reset to restart it. I.e. it goes to sleep and won't wake up.

If it goes to sleep in the cradle, whilst charging, the orange LED light keeps on flashing, as though it is charging, although it isn't. I've also noticed that when it 'goes to sleep', the clock no longer seems to run, as when I reset, and then re-sync it, the desktop PC has to correct the time on it.

Has anyone any ideas what could be wrong here? Or perhaps a site that will be able to explain how to fix this?

Many thanks

John

Have you applied all the patches and software updates from the HP website? I recently upgraded a 3850 and had no issues whatever with the upgrade - in fact everything is running a little better than before! Check over the HP site: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...&lang=en&cc=us and see if there is anything there to help you.

Thanks David. When I looked at the software patches etc, there doesn't seem to be anything applicable. All I could find on there were some patches for the add-on keyboards.

Had pehaps the same problem with a 3970. Not sure about the time thing never have used it a lot due to the resets so I went back to 2002, but reset was necessary after hibernation, etc. Talked to HP service and they wanted $141 to "fix it". They would not elaborate what the hardware problem was. I left a post for this same type of problem today.
