3970 Upgrade to PocketPC2003 issues
Hi

HELP!!! bought the upgrade to Pocket PC 2003 from HP, but it will not install. Keep getting error 117 : invalid model ID.

Also tried upgrading the ROM version under PP2002 from 2.0 to 2.1 and the same error happens....

Anyone any ideas?

first remove all expansion pack devices and any sd memory card. Only upgrade clean as when the ipaq was shipped to you. Pls do not have any additional devices attached when you upgrade. Thereafter, it should upgrade as stated in your documentation

Make sure that you indeed have the correct upgrade CD for your particular model. It almost sounds as if you have an upgrade CD for a different model. Your CD from HP should have a part number on it. Call HP and verify that the part number is indeed the CD that you need.

coba dengan cara ini, 1. pastikan kabel berfungsi, activesync berjalan sempurna (green connected icon), listrik di rumah tidak padam, bilamana perlu matikan semua perangkat listrik yang tidak perlu, cabut semua card ekspansi, only one connected cable to activesync, serial or usb 2. downgrade ke original ROM ver. 2.00 USA (be carefull, blank serial number (akan hilang), english language, blank bluetooth driver version number, iPAQ backup ver 1.0) 3. ikuti instruksi di layar (do soft reset and hard reset) 4. wait...... and be patient 5. the screen will change to desired ver 2.00; 6. from here you can do upgrade to wm2003

hope this help, sorry about my language
