HELP!! Activesync not Synching inbox e-mails???
Hi Folks,

I have a problem with activesync synching my inbox e-mails to my outlook.

Here is what happens:

a.) I put my iPaq in the cradle and wait for it to synch
b.) It starts the synching process
c.) It synch's the Calendar, Contacts, Notes, etc, but when i get's to the bottom, (where the inbox is at) it starts to synch only 2 or 3 items then it just stops.

This is odd and has not happened before to me.

I have rebotted my PC and soft resetted the iPaq a few times, as well as disconnected and reconnected the USB cable, all with the same result and no success.

Any suggestions or help with this????

Thanks.

You may want to try an un-install/re-install of ActiveSync; the newest version is located here : http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...ivesync38.mspx

Also do any of your emails have large attachments? there is an option in AS to only sync attachments of a certain size across - check this setting.

If you have a number of very large attachments then you may be experiencing memory issues which would halt the sync process.

Rob, I checked the memory, and i am good for now. I am being selective of what i keep in my inbox in terms of document sizes. However, I will check again.

Thanks.

Can you move all of your emails out of your inbox (on your PC), sync to your unit, and then start adding back your emails one by one until you find the ones that cause the problems?

Rob,

I tried to move the mails as you suggested, but still no success. I tried in small blocks of 10 and worked my way up to blocks of 50+, still the same problem.

Something i did notice id that i synchs the calendar, tasks, contacts, just fine but not the any of the inbox e-mails. As a matter of fact i noticed that when it showed the number of inbox items it is suppose to sync, it showed it as almost double the number as i have in my inbox. Very odd.

Any other suggestions??

Thanks.

Can you:

- when not connected
- move them all out in one go
- Soft reset your iPaq
- Reboot your PC
- Sync your ipaq (you should have no unsycn'd items)

- copy back the emails slowly

Rob,

Thanks, it sort of worked. I was able to get all the e-mails synched from all of my folders Outlook on my PC to my iPaq. All but 7, which were stated as unresolved.

Any ideas on why it is giving me the unresolved items message??

Thanks again.

Nope (it is just the way AS is)

Have a look at the emails - see if there is anything simialr between them such as:
- are they meeting appointments
- are they cc'd to common groups etc etc

O.K., I think a few of those might be appointments.

Thanks for all the help.
