802.11g PCMCIA adapter for ipaq
Hello All,

Does anyone know of a company that makes a networking adapter (802.11g) that i can run with my H3955 and PC card expansion pack, running on windows mobile 2003? There are lots of companies that make the cards, but i have not yet seen one that specifically says that it's compatible with the ipaq platform. Any Ideas? Thanks, Max Kurkowski

It's a shot in the dark, but I think your best bet is a Linksys card if their CF G card (WCF54G) drivers will work on their PC cards. This was frequently true for 802.11b CF and PC cards, but it depends on whether the CF and PC cards are based on the same chipset. A little web searching may confirm this.

You do realize that putting a G card into an older 3x00 series handheld isn't going to make much of a differnece if any at all compared to a 802.11b card.

The old 3x00 series models just don't have the horsepower to keep up wiht a G connection.

I wouldn't worry about a G connection.

Of course the main reason for using a G adapter in a PPC isn't the improved speed on it (even present day PPCs see very little benefit), but the ability to run in pure G mode so the rest of your network can benefit.
