iPAQ 3630 battery & OS
I am very very new to this forum. I have just got a few days ago as a gift, an unused 3630. I already have an Axim X50v and I planned on using this as a backup and also for my children to practise upon.
I have a couple of problems, though.
Battery
I have charged the device a couple of times. If it is not used, the battery will last quite a long time. As soon as I use it for whatever, it lasts for a few minutes only. Do I need to change the battery or could it be something else ?
OS
The device has Pocket PC 3.0 on it, which I surmise should be PPC 2000.
It is therefore in need for an upgrade, I suppose.
Other parameters, are ROM 2.14.11 ITA and Product Revision 1.0
Can anybody point me to where I can find some help in understanding whether I can upgrade and what steps I should follow ?

TIA

The battery most definitely needs to be replaced, based onnthe symptoms you are seeng. I know there is a upgrade to PPC 2002 for the 3630, I got a 3650, but it has already been updated, so I don't know how hard the process is

Get a battery from ebay. I bought and installed one for a buddy on his 3635 and it works great. Even had clear instuctions with a warning to be carfull when removing the back cover because the battery is on it and a connection goes from it to the motherboard.

This is the one i used even came with a pointer.

Oh, this brings back memories. I remember opening one of my early iPAQs to fix the headphone jack glitch instead of sending it in.
