netcf for ipaq 3950?

Hello
I am having a hard time trying to install the .net compact framework for my 3950. I tried the v2, but it said not compatible with my device. I have several games that require this application installed.

Can someone direct tell me or post a link for the one that's compatible with our device?

thanks.

You need ActiveSync 4.x to install v2 of NET Compact Framework

I'm pretty sure I've used ActiveSync 3.8 to install this software to my windows mobile 2003se pocket pc.

.Net Compact Framework 2.0 is supported by the following device operating systems:

Supported Device Operating Systems: Windows Mobile Software for Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile 5.0 for PocketPC and Smartphone, Windows CE .NET 5.0 and higher.

The 3950 is running the windows mobile 2002 OS, but is upgradeable to windows mobile 2003. Have you upgraded your pocket pc to windows mobile 2003? If not, you will not be able to install this software to your pocket pc.

My OS version says Windows CE 3.0. Pardon my ignorance but is this 2002 or 2003, or neither. I purchased my ipaq used and am not sure there OS was updated.
Could that be the problem?

Windows CE 3.0 means your pocket pc is running windows mobile 2002, so .Net Compact Framework 2.0 will not run on your pocket pc unless you upgrade it to windows mobile 2003. HP no longer sells these upgrades buy you might be able to find an upgrade on eBay.
