How do I upgrade my 3955 when I have (1) a cradle with USB attachment that enables a synch between PDA and PC and (2) have a separate power cord that runs from AC to bottom of PDA for charging purposes.

In other words, I cannot upgrade with the equipment I have because I do not have a source that allows a direct plug into AC AND allows me to synch at the same time. The software stopped me cold with an error message saying I had to attach the PDA to AC. I can't and synch at the same time!

Does such a creature exist (it must since so many people here have successfully upgraded to 2003) and, if so, where do I get it?

Looking at the user manual online, it shows that you can connect the USB and the AC to the Cradle.

You may find that you have a second hole in the cradle that will take the AC.
Usually it is a round hole, you may have to remove the flat end from the AC cable.
Or perhaps the cable you have is only for connecting directly to the PPC, if that is the case maybe you need to buy a different cradle or cable.
Another possibility is to sync via Bluetooth while you are connected to the AC, not sure if that would work for an update, or even if you have BT.
