Hey people i have an ipaq 3950 in my asset viewer it say bluetooth but other than that i cant find anything else that says bluetooth so does a 3950 have bluetooth or not if so how do i get it going
It says that there is bluetooth. So, if you don't find the blue icon in the lower right corner, you probably will have to go into start -> settings -> system, and you will find the bluetooth icon there.
Hi,
I want to get my ipag on the internet and don't know what the best option is. Can anyone recommend options for this? What can I use bluetooth for and what card is recommended.

You cannot get BlueTooth. See the posts above. It is not available for the 3950.
That goes for your 3950 as well.
You wouldn't want BlueTooth for Internet access anyways.
You would want WiFi. And for WiFi you need to get a SD (Secure Digital) WiFi card.
In addition to David's post above, you could use a Compact Flash WiFi card, but you will need a Compact Flash expansion jacket (sleeve) for that.
One further question though David, does this mean that you couldn't use an external Bluetooth card like a PCMCIA or a CF card (if you had the right jacket of course)? As I have a Bluetooth PCMCIA card for my laptop which I know cannot be used on my 3950 due to it being a 32bit card, but was wondering if there were any others that I could use instead.

It would be possible, but fairly pointless.
BlueTooth only works in very limited range, you'd have to be so close to your PC/receiver that it would be almost pointless....just use ActiveSync to connect.
WiFi on the other hand, will get you throughout your entire house, and not tied to the limited (and unsecure) range of BlueTooth.
WiFi is tremendously faster than BlueTooth also, and secure (if enabled).
There are just too many benefits with using WiFi over BlueTooth to even consider NOT using WiFi. It's also cheaper/easier to setup and maintain.
Just my opinions though :) If BlueTooth is indeed the desired method of connection, I'm sure we can come up with a solution.
Cool, sign me up :) David, which card (ie...brand) would you recommend for wifi? I also have a compact flash expansion pack, but I think the sd card might be better? Thanks again everyone for your expert opinions!
I think you will need a CF WIFI card - or does the 3950 support SDIO? CF cards are still sold and developed; while PCMCIA WIFI cards you will have to be lucky to get.

A SD WiFi card will serve you best, and doesn't need a CF sleeve to use.
Less bulk, less $$, less hassle.
Yes, the PCMCIA WiFi cards are only supported if they are 16-bit (I have tried with my 3Com X-Jack PCMCIA card from the laptop - it recognised it was there, but it wouldn't do anything)
to make all confused :p :p :p there is a CF expansionpack for the 38/39 series BT included but is only running under WM 2002 under 2003 you can use it as a normal cf jacket maybe someone fingered out how to get it work under wm2003 please tell it to us
