PLS Help out in my H3900!

Hi All
-before anything i would like to mention that i have searched this whole forum for some help in previous issues.-

i am a new user on all of this i got my H3900 from Germany as gift, so it came with Ger. Lang. installed with Windows mobile CE 3.0
i got few issues

1- to make it English Language windows instead of this German
2- could i upgrade this windows for it lacks for many options which i think maybe newer version of windows could come in handy.

I think that your only hope in the language department is to purchase an English version of the system software. I was checking the HP website and they are no longer selling the PPC/WM 2003 software but I would suggest that you check on ebay (I found this link with a quick search of "ipaq 2003"). I am not sure what version you have (dont know what CE 3.0 converts to) - but 2003 is the newest that you can put on the device. I used to have a 3850 but that was a long time ago now!

If you want it in the english language then make sure that is what you are looking for - (if I remember correctly) each build is specific to the device and language option due to the size(s) of the system ROM.

BTW - I just grabbed the first ebay link that seemed to apply to your situation I did not check the seller or have any kind of relationship with them - it is just an example that these things exist out there for you.

Thank you very much for the help.

Honestly that sounds a bit hard to do, since the ebay doesnt support delivery to my country.

i thought maybe there could be a way of changing the language over ROM update or something as i saw in some other posts about different models, i just don't get the method 100% when it comes to Flex-Hex editing ... something mentioned about SUM change and so on....

if you can help in that field i really would appreciate it :)

Did you check the link that I posted? There is no shipping to be concerned with it is all online - thats why I selected that particular auction. Maybe just give it a look - to me it would seem to be a lot easier than what you are asking for help with! (But that is just my opinion!)

Thanks for the link you posted, yes i have checked.
i have found the upgrade which you posted me the link for, which upgrades my version to 2003 English, but when i ran the installation it didnt work since my version is German :(
i want to change this German to English.... but as it seems upgrading the German 2002 to English 2003 doesnt work...
can you please advice what i need to do? i must change the language i think before upgrading ... but how????

By the way my device is H3970

Thanks for the help i was able to solve the problem, my device now is having a 100% English windows and i even upgraded the windows on it to 2003 :D
