PDA loses all (hard resets) when powering off
I have a Ipaq 3760 which is working just fine, until you decide to power off the device (by pushing the power-off button in the top-right corner).
If you do so, the PDA performs a hard reset, in which it loses all settings/installed programs. After the hard reset the PDA comes up with the red iPAQ screen followed by the 'Welcome Pocket PC' screen, after which screen calibration has to be done. and the styluys/popupmenu tutorial and timezone settings. You know - the stuff you do at first time boot up.
This only happens when powering off. If I use the stylus to reset the device (bottom right reset-hole), the device just resets and after reset shows the normal operating system desktop.
Since the power off function does a hard reset instead there is no way to power off the PDA except by switching the microswitch for battery power to 'off'.
The PDA arrived in my hands completely dead. I replaced the battery, and ever since it shows this behaviour. According to the guy who sold me the device it functioned before with the old battery, though i am doubtful.
Any ideas as to what might be causing this? I wonder if this would be easy fixable or only fixable through entire mainbord replacement (pretty costly).
Thx, regards, Bas
