What's up with the alarms?
I set some backup alarms on my 4155 last night and I noticed this morning that the alarms had gone off (on the screen), but no sound??? I had volume up and everything. Anyone know a fix or what I did wrong?

-JmE-

BTW: I had alarms set in both MobileMate and WM2003.

Doh! You beat me to the first post on this board!

The alarms on PPCs are pretty messed up. I always use third party alarm programs.

As far as the alarms being messed up, I did not notice this on the X5... I guess I did not go out of town as much, hence did not need alarms, once I upgraded to WM2003 on it.

I have heard that SPB Pocket Plus will break alarms on the 4155. Also, there was a problem with Pocket Backup that broke alarms. I am not sure if this is a problem on the 4155 but it was a problem on the 2215.

Here is a link to the Spritesoftware Backup patch: Patch

I happened to notice just an hour ago on my 2215 that, while the pop up was enabled for appointments, the sound was unchecked. Since I haven't messed with those settings before now, I assume that's the default on WM03. If you do not look for an add-on program for the alarms, you can use the drop down list in Settings, Sounds & Notifications to change it.

When I got my 2215, I wish it was a simple as that. However, it wasn't. My alarms would fire but there were times that it would not go off at all; no popups or sound. When I installed the spritebackup fix, my problems went away.

Even though this fix was for Pocket Backup on the iPAQs, the Pocket Backup that came in the new iPAQ Roms seemed to have a small bug that apparently messed with the alarms (from what I gathered from my research).

There are discussions about this going on everywhere it seems!

I have been having problems since I got my 4155 and passed on my 1910........

I have removed almost all 3rd party 'alarm' apps and am just using the OS to alert me and it seems to be working........ they do repeat...... but every once in a while I miss one.........
Seems like a stupid MS OS error!

Well, it's pretty much common knowledge that SPB Plus' repeating alarms don't work well (or at all) on a 4150. I have disabled it on mine and am using superalert with relatively good success. I have not missed an appointment nor task since using it and the alarm does repeat.

Did you keep PocketPlus on the device though, with just the alarms disabled? If that works I will put PPlus back on like you have it......

Yep. I still use PP for the program launcher and IE features.
