4150 Screen Quality
I was expecting a little bit more "WOW!" factor when I moved from my iPAQ 3635 to my iPAQ 4150. Inside viewing I'm impressed with the backlighting instead of the sidelighting. But outside, I can't really tell a difference between the two. I just love the speed and wireless (WiFi&BT) of the 4150. I just was expecting the screen to be a vast improvement for outside viewing. I've played with all brightness settings and optimized it form my viewing. A Writeshield Screen Protector helps cut down on the screen reflections. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy, just not overwelmed.

I've just spent the past 8 years looking at a Psion Series 5 16x greyscale screen - so I am still going "wow" everytime I look at the screen on my 4150!

It's only been 3 days, so me & my 4150+PocketC are still getting to know each other... but I still would rather a "landscape" screen layout, other than "portrait" - but then I guess it wouldn't fit in my hand so easily.

Hi Antony,
You did make me smile, with your comments, about your Psion. All I can do at the moment is read about the 4150, but in 328 hours I will be able to see for myself, I am also thinking of setting up a web site in the New Year, dedicate to the H4150, that will cover pictures, loading & running programs, Wi-Fi & HotSpots, wish me luck.

I have to admit that when I first played with a Dell Axim X3i - sexy little beast as it is -- I found the PocketPC o/s + standard apps so disappointing when compared to my 8 year old (!!) Psion -- that I said "no way" to the PDA change.

The massive pricing that 2nd hand Psions are getting on Ebay made me re-think.... and 4 days on, I am very happy with the 4150 indeed.

[Doesn't mean that I don't want to hold to ransom the PocketPC o/s developers until they code their apps to have the same flexibility and options that you get an old Psion's! I am quite sure that Microsoft have made a strategic decision to make PocketPC very much "Pocket" - mayebe there is some fear for the desktop if the PoketPC is too good! But unless you chaps & chapesses have seen what a Psion can do with only a 36Mhz CPU and just a fraction of the memory - then maybe you will not be aware just how "pocket" the PocketPC apps are!]

I chose the 4150 over the Dell X3i, as the X3i doesn't have bluetooth support as standard (it will from approx May 2004).

- not sure what any of this had to do with the 4150 screen quality by the way, apart from to stay I think its fantastic!

I would ditch my 4155 in a flash if Psion made a transflective color unit in size between a Revo and a Series 5. I'd even take the old EPOC 32 OS!!!
I still have my Revo and it works fine but greyscale and no wireless, booo.
Yeah Psion was doing in 1988 what PPC was doing 2 years ago and Palm still can't do!
God bless the Brit's, they can't build reliable cars but they build mean handhelds!,

get nyditot virtual display to use it in landscape, very handy for viewing web pages.

I don't like it. It still doesn't eliminate horizontal scrolling, and makes my 4150 rather unstable.
