Is there any way to record a meeting without holding the record button in the entire time. If software required, freeware solution is preferred.

go to Notes.
hit the "ok", if you're in a new blank note, so that you see all the files.
hit the "tape" icon at the bottom so that the record/stop/play taskbar is visible.
hit the record button to start recording

you can record directly to 16, 56, or 128 kbps of MP3.
For speech, I uses 16 kbps, so 1 hour session only takes around 9 MB.
