Anyone with a 4150 (not 4155)?
If you have a 4150 (not a 4155 - I know, same thing), was Resco File Explorer on your CD?

I have read in a few places that the 4150 does not come with Resco, but my 4155 CD has printed on it "hp iPAQ Pocket PC h4100 and h4300 Series". No where does it indicate a distinction for the models.

Please put this to rest for me or enlighten me. Either way, I just want to know.

Thanks.

I have a 4150 and it didn't come with Resco Explorer. My understanding is that the 4155 comes with Resco Explorer and Task Manager and the 4150 does not.
Somebody posted the contents of the two models' CDs over at the brighthand forums. The resco software was the only difference.

hehehe... good. So you can verify. That was what I needed to know.

I posted a list from my CD over at brighthand a while back for someone... It is very strange that HP would drop that one item. Could this just be an oversight? What does the label of your CD have on it (compared with what I posted above)?

My 4150's CD has the same thing on it that you stated your 4155's CD has. ("hp iPAQ Pocket PC h4100 and h4300 Series").

Also, a number in tiny size font at the CD bottom says "345383-001".

and, there's also a "Version 1.0" notation about 4 o'clock on the CD.

and, I can see a date burned into the inner ring of the CD: "9/16/2003", along with that same "345...-001" number.

I have the 4150
I have the 4150 and can assure you that my unit came with Resco File Explorer on the installation CD. I purchased my unit through HPShopping utilizing their student purchase program.

If you bought it through HPshopping & the academic program (like I did), it should be the 4155 you have. The 4155 should have Resco. It is the 4150 package we were wondering about.

I had to exchange my previous h4155 due to a WiFi issue. The replacement is an h4150. My box states 4100 Series and the "about" applet reveals the handheld as a 4150 NOT an h4155!

My "about" applet doesn't read 4150 or 4155. The Asset Viewer shows "hp iPAQ h4150" and I have a 4155. (I think Asset Viewer -> System is where you probably saw that). I believe my box also read 4100 series.

If you bought through HPshopping and the Academic program, it should be a 4155 which it probably is. Even if you do a warranty swap, it will probably be the 4155 bundle.

I was looking for someone who bought the retail 4150 package to verify if the full version Resco File Explorer was included on the CD as it was included on the 4155 CD.

I appreciate the information, however, but it can not be established for cetain if the one you posess is a 4150 or 4155.

The hardware is the same, it is what is included on the CD that is needed.

I have the 4150 reatil package and Resco is not on the included CD.

I've been having problems getting the CD to boot up at all, I have to go into it manually. There's supposedly some VOIP software on there but I have no idea what the name of it is.

Thanks... Between the info provided by you and Jeeters, I am now going to answer people that ask me with "Resco File Explorer is not included with the 4150".

Prior, I had to tell people that I wasn't sure.

This might also help if IpaqHQ puts up FAQs on the difference between the two model numbers.
