Keeping it off
When I plug my 4155 into the cradle it always turn itself on. This is especially annoying since most of the time I just want to charge the battery. How do I stop it from turning itslef on when in the craddle?

When you don't want to sync the PPC and just want to charge, you can disable the USB syncing in Active Sync (from File -> Connection Settings).

Does your power plug that goes in the back of your USB cradle use an adapter to plug right into the 4155? I know that the 2215 does.

When you put your 4155 in the cradle, a USB connection is established. Remember, when the screen is off it is not really off. It is in standby. If it was truly off you would not get your notification reminders. So either disable USB in Activesync as suggested earlier or just unplug the power to the USB cradle and plug it into the 4155.

When your PC is on and then you put your PPC in the cradle, it will turn on. When I come home, I put my PPC in the cradle to charge and then turn my PC on and the PPC wont turn on. (2215)

I was hoping there will be an option to prevent this without diabling the sync ability. If I do that then it will be another annoyance where I have to manually have to go to options to turn on the USB connectivity and then sync. I think this is another example of how microsoft limit your choices again.

In this case I don't think it is a Microsoft oversight. When putting the PPC in the USB cradle, it is treated as a USB device on your desktop. Since Win98 and up has Plug and Play capability as soon as you plug in the USB device (given the proper device drivers are installed) the USB device will be initialized. This will include Pocket PCs. So it is no mystery why the PPC would wake up. If it is too much of a hassle to disable the USB cradle temporarily or unplugging the AC from the back of the crade, may I suggest buying a separate AC plug from your nearest retailer. It might be a good idea to have one anyway if you do travelling.

Are we that lazy that we cannot just un-attach the usb cable from the back of the cradle. I too was annoyed, but think about what you are saying. I do not want my PPC to turn on when I put it in the cradle. If that happend and it didn't turn on then you would be upset because you want it to turn on. Either way I don't think you will be happy if that is the only complaint.
Pull out the USB cable from the back of the cradle, Connect the PPC to the cradle, and walla, "One Happy Camper." Then when you want to Sync it, Re-attach the USB cable to the cradle
