3600 mAh battery for 4300
Seeing the post about the 1800 battery for the 4100 series made me realize that I have not seen the extended battery for the 4300 anywhere. Has anyone purchased one of these yet? Does it change the appearance of the device like the extended battery for the 4100 series does? That would suck if it would not fit in the custom case after installing the extended battery.

allklrnoflr,

The extended battery (3600 mAh) for the 4300 is HP p/n FA190A, and available direct from the HP small business section only. The price is $119 US and currently on back-order. I am considering buying myself one as the orginial 4350 battery is not up to the task, especially when surfing the net. I did search google.com for the FA190A and find several companies with inventory, in particilar ecost.com . As with most extended batteries, I'm sure the size of the unit is larger such as with my cell phone.

Extended battery
I have the extended battery for the 4355. It seems great, though I don't think it is something I will use all the time. I will probably just switch the batteries out when I'll need the extra work time. The battery is about twice as thick as the original battery, and comes with a different back for the IPAQ to accomodate this difference. However, I do think it will be problematic with the case options. The slip case that came with the machine is too tight to be practical with the larger battery, haven't yet gotten the custom case I ordered, but will let you know how this works out. Any questions?

I have seen some posts about a hi-capacity mugen battery that fits in the standard battery door. Anyone try that?

I have the 3600mAH extended battery free with my purchase of the iPaq h4350. Lucky for me that my wife works with HP and there was this Family and Friends deal.

It makes a huge difference to the battery life, esp when you are in town surfing away on WiFi hotspots.

However, it does make the h4350 a little bulky...the battery is double the thickness and it's a tight fit in the included nylon case.
