Soft reset
Ever since I received my H4150 I am having to do a soft reset once or twice daily as a result of a lock up. I've also had to do a hard rest 3 times as a result of lock up or just simply wouldn't power up. All in the last couple of weeks. Is this normal? I back up daily, but this is getting on my nerves. I know a soft reset is not doing harm, but over and over again is crazy.

Here are my programs if it helps:

Olive Tree Bible Software
Adobe 6.0
Air Scanner Mobile AntiVirus
Pocket Hack Master
Audible
DreamSoft Project Manager
HP printing
Mobimate DateMate & WorldMate
Omega One Battery Pack
Resco Explorer 2003
Two Peaks Flex Wallet
ValSoft Space Reclaimer
WESTTEK Suite
Registry King

Thanks.

That seems excessive.. Don't mean to insult your intelligence, but by Hard Reset you mean reinstall everything from scratch right? Wipe the slate clean?

Did you restore from backup after the hard reset?

From that list of app, Battery Pack sticks out as the culprit. Battery Pack is a today screen plugin that can cause some problems if not setup correctly. First off, any today screen plugins must be installed to main memory and not to storage cards. Did you install Battery Pack to a storage card? Second, are you running the latest and greatest? Three, I found that not using the meters on the top nav bar seems to make things run better. Try turning off the meter bars if you are running them.

It is installed to main memory, and I am using the latest version. What do you mean the meters on the 'top nav bar'?

In the settings of Battery Bar in Today settings, the Power bars are what I am talking about. I showed the battery meter as well as the memory meter which showed at the top of the PPC at the clock. After removing it my PPC did not lock up as much.

I found it. I will turn it off, and see what happens.

Thanks,

WOW! What a difference that made. I removed it, and I have not had to do a reset in 2 days. Plus my programs are blazing. I can actually see a difference in my overclocking now as well. Thanks For the help.

It seems on the new Ipaqs that some units like certain programs and not others. On my new 2215 all of the Battery Bar, Journal bar programs seem to hang up. The Ppctools and Ppcpad seem to run and work fine. Maybe they have a real personality of their own????????
